We have always focused on exploring the unknown, the new, and the intangible in search of answers to the big questions. That pursuit drives us to challenge boundaries and expand creativity to find solutions that transform the lives of those who inhabit the spaces we design. Tiento Taller is shaped by that very creative tension.
For over 10 years, we’ve collaborated with a wide range of individuals, companies, and professionals who have given us the experience to truly understand what people need from the spaces they inhabit — and to create environments that foster enriching experiences. Driven by passion and precision, we approach each new project by questioning and challenging the standards and the status quo of typical architectural solutions.
This mindset has allowed us to develop creative, efficient, and highly aesthetic and functional proposals that enhance the quality of life for those who live and work in the spaces we design.
Our key to success? Our team.
Our studio is more than just an office — it’s a space for inquiry, creative freedom, and technical expertise that enables us to go beyond expectations, no matter how big, small, simple, or complex the project may be.
Juan is an architect and founding partner of Tiento. As project director, he makes sure that ideas move from concept to built reality—coordinating processes with focus, clarity, and dedication.
After graduating in 2015, he spent six years working at a studio in Bucaramanga, where he contributed to the design and coordination of high-end residential, retail, and gastronomy projects.
He later continued his professional journey in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked as an architect at a construction firm, taking part in the development of both residential and commercial projects. During this time, he gained valuable experience with U.S. building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes—deepening his ability to lead complex projects and navigate diverse regulatory environments.
Deeply committed to the well-being of both teams and users, Juan leads each project with empathy, charisma, and a strong capacity to move things forward.
Daniel is an architect and founding partner of Tiento, a studio established in 2021 with the aim of developing architectural projects through a strategic, collaborative, and internationally-minded approach. Since its foundation, he has led the overall studio strategy and the creative direction of its projects.
He graduated as an architect in 2014 in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and spent eight years collaborating with an award-winning practice specialized in healthcare architecture. In 2022, he completed a Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt, Germany, where he deepened his knowledge of contemporary design methodologies and broadened his global perspective. Today, he complements his role at Tiento with his work at an international design firm based in Germany—strengthening connections between both contexts and enriching the studio’s vision.
With a career that bridges Latin America and Europe, Daniel is committed to positioning Tiento as a versatile and forward-thinking practice, grounded in design quality and strategic development.
Erick plays a key role throughout the entire construction process at Tiento. He is involved from the development of detailed construction drawings to on-site supervision, ensuring that each project is executed with precision and high quality. He also coordinates the various contractors involved, making sure communication is clear and the execution aligns with the design intent.
After graduating as an architect in 2017, he worked on public bidding projects for civil works companies, where he was responsible for coordinating multiple ongoing projects. He later specialized as a site supervisor and inspector for single-family and multi-family housing projects, overseeing all phases from foundation work to final finishes.
At Tiento, Erick is the one who ensures that every detail is well-defined before reaching the construction site—so that all teams involved deliver consistent, high-standard results.
Jimena takes part in the different phases of the architectural project, with a particular focus on design and visual development. Her work ranges from drafting and reviewing drawings to developing ideas and solutions, integrating the various tools available within the team.
After graduating as an architect in 2016, she worked independently on the design and construction of countryside homes in Santander, Colombia. This experience gave her a deep understanding of local architecture, especially in relation to climate analysis and the topography of the region.
Within the team, Jimena brings a positive attitude and a keen eye for detail. She is motivated by being part of Tiento Taller because it offers a space of constant learning, where she can grow across different areas of the practice and contribute in a collaborative environment where every input is valued and adds to the development of each project.
