WHAT WE MAKE POSSIBLE? / DESING / HEALTHCARE ARCHITECTURE

Healthcare Architecture

Designing and building healthcare spaces goes beyond operational efficiency or technical regulations. When functionality is combined with thoughtful aesthetics, environments not only facilitate clinical processes but also enhance the emotional well-being of everyone within them—patients, medical staff, and visitors.

FUNCTIONAL AESTHETICS

Designing healthcare spaces extends far beyond operational efficiency or technical compliance.

When functionality integrates with a well-considered aesthetic, the environments created not only support clinical workflows but also contribute to the emotional well-being of patients, healthcare staff, and visitors.

QUALITY & CONTROL VS. IMPROVISATION

From planning to execution, professional architectural design ensures efficient use of resources, technically sound solutions, and construction free of improvisation.

Every decision follows a rigorous process that optimizes time, costs, and the overall quality of the final result.

PROJECT SUPPORT

Beyond design, we take an active role in the regulatory, structural, and functional management of the project, ensuring that every decision meets current technical and legal standards.

We accompany every stage of the process—from planning to execution—with professional judgment, responsibility, and attention to detail, guaranteeing that the final result is viable, safe, and of high quality in both its form and operational performance.

Amazing service! They paid attention to every detail and delivered ahead of schedule. The only issue was a minor bug in the software, but they fixed it quickly. I appreciate their dedication!

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to design a healthcare project?
It depends on the scale and complexity. A medical office may take between 8 and 16 weeks, while a clinic or hospital requires more extensive phases that can range from 4 to 8 months. In every case, we develop the project in stages—diagnostics, conceptual design, technical development, and regulatory approval—ensuring compliance and quality.
The cost varies depending on the scope, size, and included services. In healthcare projects, the required level of specialization also plays a key role. To provide a realistic and tailored proposal, we schedule a video call to understand the project scope and clearly define both technical and functional needs.
Healthcare projects require complementary studies such as biomedical engineering, hospital installations, acoustics, specialized lighting, ventilation and HVAC systems, as well as regulatory studies on safety, accessibility, and healthcare licensing. These are integrated into the architectural design to ensure the project meets all technical and regulatory standards.
Yes. We support the licensing process and coordinate with regulatory entities to ensure the design complies with current healthcare regulations. This streamlines and secures the service opening process.
Healthcare projects demand a higher level of specialization: they must not only be functional and aesthetically correct but also comply with strict technical standards and healthcare licensing requirements. This involves coordinating disciplines such as biomedical engineering, HVAC systems, clean and dirty flow design, and universal accessibility. In contrast, while commercial projects are also rigorous, they do not require the same degree of regulatory and technical detail.

Juan David Flórez

Founding Partner | Project Director

Juan is an architect and founding partner of Tiento. As project director, he makes sure that ideas move from concept to built reality—coordinating processes with focus, clarity, and dedication.

After graduating in 2015, he spent six years working at a studio in Bucaramanga, where he contributed to the design and coordination of high-end residential, retail, and gastronomy projects.

He later continued his professional journey in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked as an architect at a construction firm, taking part in the development of both residential and commercial projects. During this time, he gained valuable experience with U.S. building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes—deepening his ability to lead complex projects and navigate diverse regulatory environments.

Deeply committed to the well-being of both teams and users, Juan leads each project with empathy, charisma, and a strong capacity to move things forward.
