Casa Micelio

Located on a mountainous site, this residential project embraces an introspective character, subtly integrating into the landscape. The fragmented volumetry responds to topographic and climatic adaptation strategies, generating patios and voids that enable cross-ventilation, controlled sunlight, and a spatial experience that dissolves boundaries between inside and out. The material palette combines rustic-finished walls with natural wood carpentry and detailing, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere.

The metal structural system is resolved with sloped roofs of strong geometric presence, contrasted by organic elements such as a central tree within a reflecting pool that organizes circulation and invites contemplation. The architecture promotes serene domestic life, where the dialogue between landscape and built form flows naturally, reflecting a contemporary vision of rural living that is both emotionally resonant and contextually sensitive.

Juan David Flórez

Founding Partner | Project Director

Juan is an architect and founding partner of Tiento. As project director, he makes sure that ideas move from concept to built reality—coordinating processes with focus, clarity, and dedication.

After graduating in 2015, he spent six years working at a studio in Bucaramanga, where he contributed to the design and coordination of high-end residential, retail, and gastronomy projects.

He later continued his professional journey in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked as an architect at a construction firm, taking part in the development of both residential and commercial projects. During this time, he gained valuable experience with U.S. building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes—deepening his ability to lead complex projects and navigate diverse regulatory environments.

Deeply committed to the well-being of both teams and users, Juan leads each project with empathy, charisma, and a strong capacity to move things forward.
